Kalamata olives of the Kalamon variety enjoy great popularity due to their nutritional benefits and healthy fat content. They are named after the city (Kalamata) in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese, where they originate and are produced. In addition, they are also harvested in the neighbouring areas of Laconia. Their oval shape, dark purple colour and intense flavour are characteristic of these olives. They are carefully picked by hand to avoid possible damage.
