Query on the Item?

The wonderfully traditional Chianti bottle wrapped in real straw bast is simply too beautiful to be left to the tourist shops and their certainly often dubious contents. In our case, it is filled with the best San Michele Chianti.

About the Fattoria San Michele a Torri

The Florentine Paolo Nocentini fulfilled his dream by buying the old Fattoria San Michele.
Within a few years, a Tuscan model farm was created: the old villa renovated in tuscan style, the fields cultivated again with traditional crops. The small bakery bakes traditional bread from durum wheat. A stately herd of Cinta Senese pigs grazes not far from the fattoria and provides lardo, finocchiona and prosciutto. In the attic, grapes for Vin Santo are dried on wooden racks in the classic Vinsantaia and then ripened in the old-fashioned-looking, cement-sealed chestnut caratelli.

The grape reception and fermentation tanks, on the other hand, are at the cutting edge of current enological technology. The winery is located on the border between Chianti Classico and Colli Fiorentini and can therefore produce wines from both areas.

Paolo Nocentini's wine ideal: the traditional Chianti as a pleasant drinking and table wine. This is why it is also available in the fiasco, the traditional raffia bottle. The Sangiovese vines are re-bred in a tree nursery from the vines of an 80-year-old vineyard, because Paolo is sure that they are better than the modern clones (and he is probably right). However, the yield is correspondingly low. The sensitive farm manager and oenologist Leonardo Francalanci manages to walk the tightrope between modernity and tradition.
