IΣTOPIA (Istoria), Greek for history, is more than just a wine - it is a tribute to the rich culture and tradition of Greece. Made from Agiorgitiko, one of the oldest grape varieties in the world, it creates a wonderful symbiosis with Cabernet Sauvignon. These grape varieties thus combine the best of both worlds.
The red wine from Tzivanis shows remarkable depth and complexity. This is partly due to the characterful ageing in wooden barrels. In the glass, it unfolds a harmonious interplay of velvety tannins, fine spice and earthy notes reminiscent of the barren, mineral soils of Greece.
The skilfully designed logo with symbols such as the Acropolis, brave warriors of Sparta and the mythical Cretan bull reflects the unmistakable character of this wine - strong, courageous and full of history.
About the winemaker Tzivani:
The Tzivani family's winery and vineyards can be described as a treasure trove of rare and original grape varieties. In addition to international varieties such as Merlot and Chardonnay, there are mainly classic Greek varieties that make wine connoisseurs' hearts beat faster. Agiorgitiko, Golden Malagouzia or Athiri can be found at George and Chrissie Tzivani. The winery is located around 60 kilometres northwest of Athens on a barren, expansive site. The winery's 28 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards are located in the Ritsona and Arma Thiva regions, which have been known since ancient times for their ideal microclimate for excellent wines. Furthermore, the differences in altitude and the composition of the soil contribute to the complexity of aromas and flavours that define the character of Tzivani's exquisite wines. Careful vinification takes place in the cellar, which is equipped with high-tech facilities. The winery is located in a beautiful building with traditional architecture in Ritsona, near the town of Chalkida. All wines are fermented under the best oenological conditions, while all red wines are patiently matured in small oak barrels in the underground wine cellar, where technology and tradition meet.
