Kalamata olives of the Kalamon variety enjoy great popularity for their nutritional benefits and healthy fat content. They are named after the city (Kalamata) in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese, where they originate and are produced. In addition, they are also harvested in the neighboring areas of Laconia. Their oval shape, dark purple color and intense flavor are characteristic of these olives. They are carefully picked by hand to avoid possible damage.
When the jar is opened, the olives should always be covered with olive oil. This gives them a long shelf life. Store in a cool and dry place.
